By the way I just finished reading the rest of your article, I don’t think I had seen the psuedoliberal-capitalist connection before, at least not as clearly articulated. It does encapsulate the misgivings I’ve had about “white” psuedoliberalism (that many Indians and Asians are fully bought into), Leaninism or, as I like to call it, trickle-down feminism.

And thanks also for pointing out that “San Francisco gay pride has become, essentially, a corporate event pushing out the very community that created it.” It is indistinguishable from any other opportunity for white people to get drunk and party — Cinco de Mayo, St. Patricks day, Oktoberfest, Burning Man — with massive lines, security (protecting who? one can ask, given the history of homophobia and police abetting it), loud music, very white (wonder bread, noodles and chapati) corporate floats outdoing each other, rainbow banners and stuff on sale, but nary a political statement to be seen anywhere.

I stop to miau to cats.
