… and this can reach absurd heights! The public school my daughters attend is in Cupertino, CA (physical but non-tax HQ of Apple), filled with Indian and Asian engineers (high socio-economic level, high education, albeit a specific kind, and high belief in the value of education). My neighbours keep praising the schools and cite the high “ratings” the schools receive, and seem to suffer no dissonance when I question the marginal value added by the schools or ask them why, if the schools are so great, is every third business in the neighbourhood strip malls some kind of tutoring program?
Not to mention the fact that they keep “running out of money” for a full-time art teacher.
