Hi Ken,

Thanks for articulating this so well. I was bothered by the “masculine vs. feminine”, which is a cultural peculiarity, long before I started trying to not get in the way of my daughters becoming “strong, leading, rational, confident, emotionally aware, loving, nurturing, passionate” humans.

I can date that botheration to the mid-90s, when a close friend and mentor lauded me for “embracing my feminine side”. I remember thinking that all I was doing was embracing another human side of myself, and that I couldn’t say what was so masculine or feminine about any aspect of myself!
