I’ve never understood this fascination for Ted talks. They have metrics on what they do, but none that I can find on impact, heightened awareness of issues, actual change in social racial gender economic health education justice, even individual stories of “i was inspired by Ted talks to do this…”
So it seems to me to be another venue for white people to feel good being half woke, as shown by “provide a platform for …”
And why there has to be a separate Ted women, I can’t fathom. Are there women’s issues on which progress can be made without men learning about and taking responsibility for them? Why can’t men listen to talks on women’s issues?
Perhaps there should also be a separate Ted black? You know, because Ted is Ted white male?
