The luxury of choice of what to get outraged over.
I’ve been trying to read and direct white people towards writing by African Americans post 2016 — mostly writing that points out that life for African Americans in the US was sucky, shortened and getting worse even before Drumpf, notwithstanding the great white hope previous president. (I mean wtf with Syrian refugees or the visa program but not Flint or Oakland or SF or the rural black South?) But white people simply will not read that which makes them uncomfortable in the slightest, specially not when it is addressed to “white people”, because, you see, they are not, they are just “people”. You can’t blame them, you can’t shame them, you can’t inflame them … so the question is, can we game them?
