This article came up on my feed 4-5 weeks into "The Uprising" - the civil disobedience acts in the aftermath of the state sanctioned "extra-judicial" killings of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd by uniformed thugs. This is a reminder that it is not just the police, all segments of this society feel sanctioned by the state to act out their whiteness and commit mental and physical violence on Black people.

Which race is it that Vietnamese-Americans think visited horror on Vietnam? And which race is it that was jailed for refusing to fight in Vietnam, a famous representative of which race said “I ain’t got no quarrel with them Viet Cong.”?

Sad to think of all of us non-Black POC immigrants to the US, scrambling to be accepted as almost white.
