Yes. Funnily enough I was at the Oakland Museum of California just a week ago with my daughters, and as part of an exhibit on yellow journalism we saw the hysterical screaming headlines by both the Hearst and Pulitzer newspapers. The NYT (at that time) seemed to have been a bit more objective. Why any intelligent person reads and gives credence to any American newspaper (except perhaps the sports, living and fashion sections) is beyond my comprehension.
The NYT’s foreign reporting continues to be based on White House tidbits and handouts, and dilettante writers (they cannot be graced with terms like journalists or reporters) like Tom Friedman and Barbara Crossette continue to get their “news” from third parties on golf courses in Bangalore and at hotel swimming pools in Delhi.
